On Tuesday evening, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders beat Rockvale to advance to the AA Section 3 Semifinals.

The Lady Raiders would claim the first set of their quarterfinal match, edging ahead 15-11 lead before going on to win 25-15.

The second set would be a much closer battle with the score being tied at 11-11 midway through. Coffee County would go on a big run to build up an 18-11 lead, but the Ravens would claw their way back to tie the score at 23-23.

Coffee County would hold on to win the second set 25-23, advancing to the Semifinals where they would await the winner of EO Coffman and Oakland.

Coffman came back from losing the first set to beat Oakland 2-1, putting them in the semifinals with Coffee County in what should prove to be a thrilling rematch of their Area 6 Championship battle.

The AA Section 3 Semifinals will take place at Rockvale Middle School on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. If Coffee County wins their semifinal match, they will play again at 7 p.m. against the winner of the loser’s bracket for a chance to advance to the State Tournament.
