CCMS sweeps road trip at Harris

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders and Red Raiders each picked up wins in Shelbyville on Thursday night.
CCMS Lady Raiders
The first half was a close battle between the two teams, with the Lady Raiders outscoring the Eaglettes 21-17 through the first two quarters.
Coffee County’s defense would turn it up in the second half, allowing just eight points as the offense scored 19 to fuel them to a 40-25 win.
“Very proud of our girls tonight,” Coach David Vinson said of the win. “They beat a top tier conference opponent on their home floor. The defense played a key role in that second half.”

With the win, the Lady Raiders moved to 2-0 on the season.
CCMS Red Raiders
The Red Raiders’ matchup with Harris started pretty slowly, as the Eagles edged ahead 6-4 in the opening quarter with Jo Jordan scoring all four of Coffee County’s first quarter points.
In the second quarter, the Red Raider offense sprang to life, outscoring the Eagles 17-9 for a 21-15 halftime lead.
Harris would outscore Coffee County 10-6 out of the halftime break, but the Red Raiders still held a 27-25 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Coffee County would widen the lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring Harris 13-6 to claim a 40-31 road win.

The win gives the Red Raiders a record of 1-1 through their first two games.
The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders and Red Raiders will be back on the court on Tuesday, Oct. 29 when they travel to Tullahoma West.
