On Saturday afternoon, the CCHS Lady Raiders improved to 16-0 with a 58-53 victory over Bartlett in the Granges Crossover Hoopfest at Bethel University.

Coming off of their championship victory in the Gulf Shores Christmas Bash at the Beach, the Lady Raiders were looking to keep their season record perfect with a win over Bartlett, a fellow Final Four team in Division 4A last year.

The first quarter would be a low-scoring start with Coffee County outscoring Bartlett 7-6.

Points picked up in the second quarter, as the Lady Raiders outpaced the Panthers 16-12 to open up a 23-18 lead at the half.

The game remained a close battle in the second half, with each side scoring 35 points over the final two quarters, but it would be the Lady Raiders taking a 58-53 victory

Besides improving to 16-0, the game was also notable for senior Channah Gannon reaching her 1,000th career point. Gannon now joins current teammates Olivia Vinson and Natalie Barnes in the exclusive club.

Next up on the schedule for Coffee County is their second game of a two game series with Tullahoma on Tuesday, Jan. 7 starting at 6 p.m.

The Lady Raiders won the previous matchup on Dec. 6 in Manchester, 60-33.

Box Score: Coffee County Lady Raiders (58) Channah Gannon 26, Olivia Vinson 12, Natalie Barnes 8, Jules Ferrell 7, Audri Patton 5.

Bartlett Panthers (53) Samiya Jones 15, Faye Williams 10, Key Key Sheffield 9, Aniya Bailey 5, Aaliyah Davis 4, Akya Woods 4, Laila Willis 2, Christian Tate 2, Alexis Cox 2.
