CCMS returns from break with split of Stewarts Creek

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders improved to 19-0 with a dominant 51-14 win over the Lady Falcons, but the Red Raiders suffered their fourth loss of the season in a 38-33 battle with the Falcons on Thursday night in Smyrna.
CCMS Lady Raiders: 51, Stewarts Creek Lady Falcons: 14
After staying idle for three weeks, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders were looking to complete a season sweep of the Lady Falcons in their first game of 2025.
Like their previous matchup with the Lady Falcons, the Lady Raider defense showed out, holding Stewarts Creek to eight points in the first half and six in the second half in what would be a 51-14 victory.
Eighth grader Brylyn McAdams led the Lady Raiders in scoring for the third time this season with 13 points.
With the win, the Lady Raiders remain perfect with a 19-0 overall record.

CCMS Red Raiders: 33, Stewarts Creek Falcons: 38
Three weeks after their CTC Championship win, the Red Raiders were hoping to ring in the new year by exacting some revenge against the Falcons, a team that handed the Raiders their most recent loss back on Dec. 10.
The Red Raiders would be locked in another close battle with the Falcons, and even though Coffee County led after each of the first three periods, they were never ahead by more than two points entering a quarter.
Stewarts Creek would take control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Coffee County 12-5 in the final frame to hand the Red Raiders their fourth loss of the season, 38-33.
The loss drops Coffee County to a 16-4 record heading into the final game of the regular season.

Coffee County Middle basketball will close out the regular season with Eighth Grade Night against Cannon County on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. with weather permitting. The game was originally slated to take place on Monday, Jan. 6, but was postponed to the current date at the request of Cannon County.
