Come aboard a luxurious floating casino for Millennium Rep’s Disaster! the Musical. With the campy charm of classic disaster films set to a disco-era soundtrack, featuring songs like “Hot Stuff,” “I Will Survive,” and “Rock the Boat,” this hilarious hit Broadway musical opens Friday, January 17, at the Manchester Arts Center.
Head back to the 70s for laughs as a scientist (Jonathan Tucker) tries to warn the crooked casino owner (Jonathan Higdon), a hot lounge singer and her twins (Hope Petty and Asher Lusby), a reporter (Zoe Stinson) and her waiter ex (Tucker Hill), a nun with a gambling problem (Jodi Levengood), and an over-the-hill disco diva (Alex Torrejon) about upcoming disaster, but everything from earthquakes to tidal waves to fire to sharks intervenes.
Director Haylee Eaton’s cast also includes Karen Wainright, Michael Higdon, Bob Jarman, Stuart McLaren, Scott Bennett, Holly McLaren, and Aleen Kittinger.
The ensemble features Charity Troyer, Ashlyn Jarman, Vanessa Jarman, Hunter Hill, Sophie Lusby, Jessica Kittinger, John Krantz, Marley Muehlhauser, Rex Baker, Emily Nipper, and Marylynn Colter.
Music director is Jodi Levengood, and choreography is by Jay Eaton.
