On Wednesday afternoon, CCHS senior Savannah Cooper signed her letter of intent to further her academic career and play volleyball at the next level with Bryan College.
“I had always wanted to go to a Christian college and I was willing to do anything to go there,” said Cooper. “It was what my heart was set on. The atmosphere and community is so amazing and welcoming there, it felt like home.”
Having already met the volleyball team at Bryan, Cooper believes that she will fit in nicely with her soon-to-be teammates.
“Everyone was just super nice and they made me feel like a part of the team, even if I was just practicing with them and still trying to see if I was going to get an offer,” she said. “It seemed like there was a lot of joy with that group and it felt very comforting.”
Cooper isn’t completely set on a major just yet, but she says that her choice will be between business or psychology with a career path in entertainment marketing.
Alongside volleyball, Cooper has also been a member of the Lady Raider softball team, playing mostly as a shortstop.
When asked about what her favorite memory was in the four years she played volleyball at Coffee County, Cooper answered, “All of the memories that I have made with the other girls, like going on different trips and tournaments, staying in hotels, getting to know everyone better and growing closer with them.”
