The Coffee County Lady Raiders had no shortage of offense in an 18-1 victory over Spring Hill on Thursday night, and freshman Bailey Hale led the charge with two home runs and six RBIs.

Coffee County commenced their offensive onslaught from the very start, with Jalyn Moran leading things off with a triple and Ella Arnold firing off a two-run homer to give the Lady Raiders a 2-0 lead with only two batters having stepped up to the plate. The Lady Raiders would score twice more and leave the top of the first inning with a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the second inning, Bailey Hale would hit her first of two home runs with a two-run fly ball to center field that managed to stay inside the park, and Paisley Campbell hit her ninth double of the season to send in Ella Arnold and give the Lady Raiders a 7-0 advantage.

In the top of the third inning, Hale hit her second home run, which turned out to be a rare, inside-the-park grand slam that also sent in runners Haleigh Skipper, Kyndal Bolden and Samantha Johnson.

The Lady Raiders scored a total of five runs in the third inning and another six in the top of the fourth, including a three-run homer by Paisley Campbell that capped Coffee County’s run total at 18.

Spring Hill would finally get on the board in the bottom of the fourth, but the Lady Raiders closed out a dominant, four-inning mercy rule victory.

Junior Yeidy Cruz started in the circle for the sixth time this season, throwing three scoreless innings and striking out eight batters to get credit for the victory. Freshman Maddi Scott pitched one full inning in relief.

With the win, the Lady Raiders improve to 19-11 on the season with a 7-2 mark in district play.
