High School Golf: Stowe scores low, Raiders win again

Jack Stowe again had the lowest score for Coffee County in a team win over Tullahoma and Warren County at WillowBrook Golf Club on Monday afternoon.

For the second straight meet, Stowe carded a 70 in the 18-hole match at Coffee County’s home course, but this time, he wasn’t alone. Alex Miller from Tullahoma also put up a 70 to tie with Stowe in individual scoring.

Along with Stowe’s result, a 76 from Landon Collins, an 80 from Levi Rossman and an 81 from Carter Bell gave Coffee County a team score of 307.

In other individual scoring for the Red Raiders, Jaxon Phillips finished with an 80, Keller Hatfield turned in an 81 and Dax Carney put up an 85.

The Tullahoma Wildcats placed second amongst the three teams with a team score of 323, rounded up from Miller’s score of 70, Brody Fulmer’s mark of 81, Owen Wever’s tally of 83 and Jesse Gillis’s 89. Hudson Stroop and Blake Melton rounded out individual scoring for a Tullahoma with a 90 and a 98 respectively.

Warren County’s third place team mark of 327 came by way of a 77 from Noel Davis, an 80 from Turner Bryant, an 84 from Kylan Jones and an 86 from Zach Seibers. Connor Cook and Ty Childers each finished with a mark of 90 in individual scoring for the Pioneers.

In the girls match, it was Ella Arnold’s turn to lead the way for the Lady Raiders. Arnold carded a 103 and Karaline Matthews put up a 108 for a Coffee County team score of 211, two strokes below Warren County’s team mark of 213.

Karsyn Riddle scored a 118 and MacKenzie Ragland put up a 134 in individual scoring for Coffee County.

Warren County’s Ella Matheny put up the best individual mark of the match at 102, but teammates Lucy Mulligan and Sara Greer tallied a 111 and 118 respectively for the Lady Pioneers.

Coffee County golf will be back on familiar ground on Wednesday, Aug. 20 when they play host to the Golden Classic at WillowBrook Golf Club starting at 9 a.m.
