This past Thursday, Coffee County golf’s Jack Stowe inked his decision to continue playing the sport at the collegiate level.

The Red Raider senior signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at the University of Tennessee Southern in Pulaski. The signing was held in the Coffee County High School library.

Stowe, a four-year member of the Coffee County golf team, recently wrapped up his Red Raider career at the end of September at the Region 4-AA tournament at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford in Winchester, posting a score of 73 on the round. This result put him just two strokes behind teammate Landon Collins’s state-qualifying 71 to finish second among the Coffee County boys’ golfers individually.

Earlier in the postseason, Stowe posted another score of 73 in the Division I Class AA district tournament, also at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford. This result led the Coffee County boys in individual scoring and helped the Red Raiders post a team score of 318 to stand alongside their Lady Raider counterparts as district champions.

The year prior, Stowe finished his junior season in a six-way tie for 10th-place in the TSSAA 2A State Golf Tournament at Sevierville Golf Club, carding a 148 across the two-day event. He and Noah Costello had qualified for the state tournament by carding second-place individual scores of 71 at the earlier region tournament at Tennessee Tech’s Golden Eagle Golf Club.

UT Southern competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ (NAIA) Southern States Athletic Conference. The Firehawks are led by head coach John Dochety, who has been at the helm of the program for six years.
