A new, interactive data tool developed by researchers at East Tennessee State University provides the public and policymakers access to dozens of metrics that collectively provide a snapshot of quality of life in each of the state’s 95 counties.

The Tennessee Liveability Indicators Dashboard relies on 60 quality-of-life data points, including transportation, housing, health care, employment, food access and community infrastructure.

The tool was developed by the Tennessee Livability Collaborative, a group of 26 public and private agencies, and academic institutions established in 2015. ETSU’s Center for Rural Health and Research, a member of the collaborative, hosts the website.

The site allows users to produce maps and tables on a variety of social and economic measures, allowing county-by-county comparisons on infant mortality, access to parks and grocery stores, library visits, debt-to-income ratios, access to primary care, accessibility of broadband internet, among other data points.
