PREP ROUNDUP: CHS boys’ soccer takes care of Columbia

Coffee County boys’ soccer won its home opener in dominant fashion Thursday night.
Hosting Columbia for a district match, the Red Raiders came out on top for a 6-2 victory over the Lions.
Coffee County (3-4, 3-1 district) remains at home to host Shelbyville for another district matchup at 7 p.m. next Thursday.

Stewarts Creek 8, Coffee County 4
The Red Raiders’ five-game winning streak came to an end in a road loss to the Redhawks Thursday.
Carter Bell finished the game with two of Coffee County’s five hits. Grayson Sadler, Chase Leonard and Matt Moore each had one.
Sadler brought in two of the Red Raiders’ three RBI, with Leonard adding the third.
Xander Meeks pitched the first three innings, coming off the mound with three strikeouts, five hits and five runs. Kasen Shores took over from there, adding two strikeouts, three hits and three runs through the game’s remainder.
Coffee County (12-7) remains on the road to face Riverdale at 5 p.m. Friday.
Middle School Softball
Westwood 8, Tullahoma East 4
The Lady Rockets picked up their third win of the week on the road in Tullahoma Thursday.
Paisley Prater and Addison Dinwiddie each had one hit for a team total of two.
Westwood posted seven RBI over the course of the game, led by Maleah Chavis and McClayne Finch with two each. Elly Wild, Callie Kapise and McKenna Kehely each had one.
In the circle, Skyleigh Cooper went through the first three innings and finished with four hits, four runs and three walks. Kehely took over in the bottom of the fourth inning, striking out eight and holding Tullahoma East to one hit and two walks through the game’s remainder.
Westwood (4-4) returns home to host Huntland at 5 p.m. Monday.
Lincoln County 10, Coffee County 0
The Lady Raiders’ six-game winning streak ended with a road loss in Fayetteville Thursday.
Coffee County finished with three hits, including one each for Addie Haley, Izzie Haynes and Siri Cruz.
Cruz was the Lady Raiders’ starting pitcher, but came out in the bottom of the first inning with one hit, four runs and three walks. Amaya Campbell took her place, adding three strikeouts, six hits and six runs through the game’s conclusion.
The loss put Coffee County at 9-3 on the season.
