GEORGE
Caroline Lee George, age 84, of Beechgrove, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 20, 2026. A native of Flintville, Tenn., she was born on Oct. 10, 1941, to the late William “Bill” George and Mary Taylor. A devoted homemaker, Caroline spent her life creating a warm and welcoming environment for those she loved. She was a woman of deep faith and a dedicated member of Mt. Ariat Baptist Church (Hoodoo Baptist Church). Those who knew her well will remember her sharp wit and her love for life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of crossword puzzles, enjoyed keeping up with her favorite soap operas, and found great joy in the excitement of yard sales—whether she was searching for a bargain or visiting with neighbors while hosting her own. Caroline’s greatest passion, however, was her “babies”—her beloved dogs. She leaves behind Louie, Daisy, and Bandit, and is now reunited with her cherished dog, Tiny, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Stevens and her husband, Clinton; her son, David “Johnny” Brown; her brother, Tony Ray Taylor; and her sister, Callie Taylor. Her legacy continues through her granddaughter, Becky Mearse, and her four great-grandchildren, Whilloh Saylor, Muhhammad Saylor, Creole Davenport, and Gabriel Saylor, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Caroline was preceded in death by her son, Gary Corvin; her brothers, W.C. Taylor and David Taylor; her sister, Judy Taylor; and her granddaughter, Vicki Mearse. A memorial gathering was held at Manchester Funeral Home in Manchester, on Monday, May 4, from 5-6 p.m.. The family welcomed all guests to come during visiting time and share any memories or stories. The family appreciates the thoughts and prayers of friends and neighbors during this difficult time.
