MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Police are searching for a man allegedly kidnapped in Midtown on Friday, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said. 

MPD officers are looking for 25-year-old Deonta White.

A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend, Deonta White, said he had been kidnapped and that he was inside of a car trunk. He told her that unknown people were holding him for ransom, MPD said. 

White’s brother told police that he was having an asthma attack and flagged down people asking for help but was then kidnapped. 

The kidnappers told them they wanted $500 to let him go. 

White is described as being 5’8″ and weighing 165 pounds.
