Man dies in Dyer County house fire, sheriff’s office says
DYER COUNTY, Tenn. – A man died in a house fire early Saturday morning in Dyer County, the sheriff’s office said.
The fire happened near the 200 block of Pecan Street, officials said.
Investigators identified the man as 63-year-old Jerry Brown.
Officials said Dyer County Sheriff’s Office deputies, an arson investigator and TBI Fire Investigation Unit are determining the cause and origin of the fire.
No firemen were injured, the sheriff’s office said.
Dyer County Fire Chief James Medling urged residents to have working smoke alarms in every room, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers available.
