A Humboldt police sergeant is being recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Sgt. Jonathan Stewart received a Letter of Commendation after using his own money to repair a water leak at a residence during extreme cold, restoring running water to the home.

Department leaders say Stewart’s actions reflect true compassion and embody the spirit of community service.
