Coffee County Rescue Squad volunteer Jennifer Simmons accepts a proclamation of recognition from County Mayor Dennis Hunt during the Jan. 13 County Commission Meeting for being named state Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award. Simmons was selected for her decades of service to the community and was vetted by a selection committee, according to Coffee County Stars Award Coordinator Lamar Wilkie.
