CCMS basketball swept by White County

Coffee County Middle School basketball wrapped up its regular-season schedule Thursday night, hosting White County for a district doubleheader.
Both home teams came out on the losing end of each respective matchup, starting with a 50-35 loss for the Lady Raiders before the Red Raiders fell 41-24.
Trailing White County 8-7 after a close start to the girls’ game, Coffee County fell further behind over the course of the second quarter and went into halftime down 22-12. White County continued to remain ahead from there, finishing the third quarter up 41-24 before closing out the game up by 15 on the Lady Raiders.
Coffee County went on to similarly trail White County 23-12 by halftime of the boys’ game, before ultimately finishing the game down by 17 points.
Kealey Branch led the Lady Raiders’ scoring effort with 18 points. Brooklyn Carlton followed with 14 points. Gracie Bryan had three points.
With the regular season complete, Coffee County turns its attention to the AAA District 6 tournament. The tournament is set to begin Monday.
