MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Gunfire erupted early Thursday morning in Parkway Village, killing a teenage boy, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers responded just before 2:45 a.m. to a shots fired call at a home on Simsbury Drive — just east of Outland Road. The call was quickly upgraded to a shooting, leading MPD to find a boy had died by gunfire.

The boy’s grandmother identified him as 14-year-old Jayden Wilson.

No other details were released by police.
