CHS wrestling dominates Cascade, Cheatham

Coffee County wrestling closed out 2025 in the win column this past Tuesday.

Traveling to Cascade High School tri-meet action against Cascade and Cheatham County, the Red Raiders swept the competition, coming out on top 78-6 over Cascade and 45-29 over Cheatham County. The Lady Raiders followed this up with an 11-0 win over Cascade and a 3-0 win over Cheatham County.

Against Cascade, Marcus Uselton got it started in the 120-pound weight class with a win by fall over Logan Haddock, with the fall coming at the 4:29 mark. Dyson Leverette, Jesse Lester, Carlos Valle-Martinez and Toccoa Gaines went on to add forfeit wins in the 126, 132, 138 and 144-pound weight divisions, respectively. Competing in the 157-pound class, William Barlow added a win by fall over Trenton Giel with 1:49 on the clock. Eli Gipson followed this up in the 165-pound division with another win by fall over Bob Cook with 2:19 on the board.

Kameron Stafford-Turner added a win by fall over Andrew Dowell in the 175-pound bout, forcing the fall at the 2:10 mark. Joshua Mainville continued the trend in the 190-pound weight class, winning by fall over Kyler Pittman with 1:47 on the board. Zander Warrick went on to defeat Landen Smith in the 215-pound weight division with a win by fall at the 1:11 mark. Tanner Vernon followed this up in the 285-pound class with a win by fall over Wesley Atwood with 33 seconds on the clock. Giddean Mascari added another win by forfeit in the 106-pound division.

In the matchup against Cheatham County, Mascari and Caleb Studd got it started with wins by forfeit in the 106 and 113-pound weight classes. Valle-Martinez went on to add a win by fall in the 138-pound weight division over Jesse Reeves with 2:27 left on the board. Gaines brought in another win by forfeit in the 144-pound class. William Barlow went to add a 16-1 technical fall victory over Jesse Carney in the 157-pound division.

Competing in the 175-pound bout, Stafford-Turner picked up another win by fall victory over Garrett Carney with 2:51 on the clock. Mainville added another win by forfeit in the 190-pound weight class. Warrick took care of business in the 215-pound weight division, coming out on top over Liam Wilson via an 11-3 major decision victory.

On the girls’ side, Coffee County picked up a pair of victories against Cascade. Competing in the 126-pound weight class, Jasmine Norris took down Ta’Leigha Gibson in a 17-2 technical fall win. Gabrielle Silva followed this up in the 132-pound weight division with a win by fall over Gibson, with the fall coming at the 1:32 mark.

Against Cheatham County, Aime Miller came out on top over Sydney Kirby in an 11-6 decision victory.
