Woman charged after argument leads to shooting in Frayser, records show

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man was seriously injured after his girlfriend shot him in Frayser overnight Tuesday, court records show.

Officers responded to North Watkins Street and Burnham Avenue just after midnight. 

The man told police his girlfriend, Quineshia Townsel, shot him while leaving her driveway. 

Paramedics took the man to Regional One in critical condition, records show.

According to court records, the man said he and Townsel argued inside of a parked Chevrolet Silverado. He said Townsel got out of the truck, and as he backed out of the driveway, he heard four or five shots and realized he was shot. He drove down the street and called 911, records show.

Townsel told police her boyfriend hit her in the face and reached across her. She said she was still inside the truck when she fired two shots in his direction. Records show investigators did not find any injuries on her face.

Investigators located a semi-automatic handgun in the 1700 block of Dabbs Avenue that was reported stolen. 

Court records show Townsel is a convicted felon who pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in 2008.
