BARTON

Beatrice Ann Barton, age 87, of Beechgrove, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born on January 17, 1938, in Pontiac, Illinois, to the late Ronald Glen and Violet Marie Arnold. A woman of great faith and a gentle spirit, Beatrice dedicated her life to her family and her community. She was a loving wife and mother who found joy in simple pleasures. A passionate gardener, she spent countless hours tending to her flowers and plants, creating a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary. Beatrice also committed herself to serving others. For years, she was a dedicated den mother for the Cub Scouts, guiding young boys with patience and kindness. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a beloved member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Beechgrove. She taught both Sunday School and Wednesday night classes to children, sharing her deep faith and love with the next generation. Beatrice’s beloved family includes her children, Timothy Barton, Virgil (Buck) Barton and Kerry Barton; her brothers, Victor Arnold, Richard Arnold, Donald Arnold, Albert Arnold, Dean Arnold, and Harold Arnold; and her sisters, Peggy Morris, Carol Hester, Barbara Day, Marjorie Wierzchowski , Patty Tooky, Diane Roque, Helene Robinson and Betty; and grandchildren, great -grandchildren and great-great grandchild. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Lakewood Baptist Church in Beechgrove from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Disney officiating services. Beatrice will be laid to rest at a later date at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, where her beloved husband, the late Virgil Barton, is laid to rest.
