Collins competes at state golf tournament

Coffee County’s Landon Collins made the trek to Sevierville Golf Club last week to partake in the TSSAA Class AA Boys State Golf Championship.

Competing as an individual, Collins finished the two-day tournament with a score of 161 to finish in a tie for 51st place with Collierville’s Justin Majors and Stewarts Creek’s Robert Quigle. Collins’s day-by-day scores included a first-round total of 79 Monday and a second-round total of 82 Tuesday.

Walker Valley’s Cody Walter took first place as an individual with a two-day score of 138. In the team standings, Hardin Valley took the top spot with a total score of 571.
