Manchester resident and Munich, Germany native Linda Joyce Dearing Duke, age 78, was born Oct. 1, 1947 on a United States military base and died Oct. 7, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a brief illness. A property manager and member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Irma Joyce Woosley Dearing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Edward Dearing and Charles Elijah Dearing; son, Gregory Zahn and sister, Charlotte Medley. Ms. Duke is survived by children, Vickie Zahn and Cecil (Jaime) Duke, both of Manchester, TN; sisters, Nancy (Gary) Womack of Nashville, TN and Michele Hallman of TX; brother, Alan Dearing of Tracy City, TN; grandchildren, Emily (Jonathan) Schomburg, Ryan (Kim) Zahn, Skylar Collins, Mia Duke, Jozlin Floyd and Shane Duke; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was at 3 p.m. Sunday Oct. 12, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Foy Bailey and Brandon Stutts officiating. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville.
