One Day of Hope duo returns to Manchester

A pair of free community outreach events organized by One Day of Hope Coffee County are returning to Manchester this month.
On Saturday October 11, the Grocery Day of Hope will be held at the Hope Center, 1886 McArthur St., Manchester, in the Canvas Community Church Parking Lot.
A drive-through event, community members can come and receive perishable food items that are handed out by volunteers. The event runs from 9-11 a.m. with the parking lot opening at 8 a.m.
The following Saturday, October 18, will be the annual One Day of Hope event held at the Coffee County Fairgrounds, 99 Lakeview Drive, Manchester.
From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., participants can come and receive items such as clothing, shoes and hygiene products.
There will also be professionals available on-site to provide medical and dental screenings, haircuts and job and career services as well as volunteers handing out information about various community services.
Also available will be a photographer to take family portraits, a prayer tent and a kids zone with games and activities for children.
Both events are rain or shine, while supplies last and no smoking. No ID is required to be eligible for either event. Only service animals will be allowed.
