City to seal parks’ parking lots

Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved during the Oct. 7 meeting a contract to seal and stripe Fred Deadman Park for $45,378.50.
The work is part of additional projects to seal and stripe the lot at Dave King Park for $20,000 and the Recreation Complex lot for $23,000. These two received Finance Committee Approval during the September meeting.
Director of Parks and Recreation A.J. Fox said that the parking lots have not been sealed in many years.
The contract for Fred Deadman Park by Seal Rite Inc. was recommended by the Manchester Street Department. The resolution passed 4-0 with Aldermen Julie Anderson and Donny Parsley absent.
Vice Mayor Mark Messick chaired the meeting in the absence of Mayor Joey Hobbs.
City to upgrade IT network
BOMA also approved a $37,381 “network refresh” with Ben Lomand Connect to update and expand the city maintained IT system.
According to the resolution, Ben Lomand’s bid assures “connectivity, resilience, security and future scalability at the lowest cost.”
BOMA approved the resolution 4-0.
