CHS volleyball falls to Lincoln County

The Coffee County volleyball team made the trip to Fayetteville to face off against Lincoln County Tuesday evening.
The Lady Raiders were unable to pick up a set win, falling 3-0 on the match by scores of 25-21, 25-9 and 25-23.
Carrington Saner was the team’s kills leader with seven. Hayleigh Harris followed with five, just ahead of Morgen Spears and Cayleigh Sturgill with four each, respectively. Danni Hillis added three kills. Allysa Goon and Taylor Brinkley both had one kill each.
Spears and Andon Selvog both came away with two aces each. Hillis, Goon and Jenslee Nogodula all added one.
Spears had the team’s lone block.
Brinkley and Selvog both recorded eight assists each. Up next was Nogodula with three. Sturgill had one assist.
Nogodula and Hillis were both credited with seven digs. Harris followed with three. Brinkley, Selvog and Sturgill all posted two digs each. Goon and Cara Newlin each had one.
Coffee County (7-4) returns home to host the Dream for Weave Southern Slam this Saturday. The Lady Raiders are scheduled to play Grundy County at 9 a.m., Fayetteville at 11 a.m. and Whitwell at 1 p.m. Bracket play will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the championship set for 6:30 p.m.
