On Thursday night, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders pulled away after a close first half with a 45-23 win while the Red Raiders collected their tenth consecutive victory in a 31-18 win over Harris.

Lady Raiders

The Lady Raiders had the edge in the first half, outscoring Harris 10-9 in the first quarter and 11-4 in the second for a halftime lead of 21-13.

Coffee County’s defense ramped up in the second half, allowing just 10 points from the Eaglettes to help seal a 45-23 win in what turned out to be a pretty chippy contest.

“I thought my girls held their composure pretty well for the most part,” said Lady Raider Coach David Vinson. “It did get a little chippy, and I’ll just leave it at that. Our defense turned it up in the second half and I’m proud of them as always.”

The Lady Raiders move to 11-0 on the season with a 8-0 record in CTC play.

Box Score: Harris Eaglettes (23) Sandra Lopez 8, Kennedy Burk 7, Sequoyah Young 6, Caja Mathis 2.

Coffee County Lady Raiders (45) Brylyn McAdams 15, Avery Pruitt 11, Kinsley Pruitt 8, Jenslee Nogodula 6, Harper Crosslin 5.

Red Raiders

The Red Raiders raced out to a good start, outscoring the Eagles 11-2 in the first quarter and 8-6 in the second to rack up a 19-8 halftime lead.

Coffee County would outscore Harris 12-10 over the final two quarters and hold on for a 31-18 win.

“The first quarter was a very clean quarter for us, we didn’t seem to rush anything,” said Red Raider Coach Jason Creek. “I felt like our defense was good all night long. Holding a team to 18 points is pretty good, so I don’t have any issues with our defense. Offensively, we have to be more efficient.”

With their tenth straight win, the Red Raiders move to 10-1 on the season with a 7-1 mark in conference play.

Box Score: Harris Eagles (18) Cyonn Rucker 6, Aderius Flevier 6, Ethan Reyes 2, Kenner Faults 2, Gabriel Tindall 2.

Coffee County Red Raiders (31) Jo Jordan 11, Jaxon Pruitt 10, Rylan Abellana 4, Kanon Creek 4, Eli Morgan 2.

Coffee County will be right back at home on Friday, Nov. 22 when they play host to Tullahoma West.
