Bonnaroo Works Fund supports local nonprofits

The Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Kelsey Dewald of the Bonnaroo Works Fund during its June Chamber luncheon.

The Bonnaroo Works Fund serves as the nonprofit arm of the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival held at The Farm in Manchester.

“It has been an interesting few years, but we have evolved, we have gotten to where we are,” she said. “I am really excited going into the festival this year, I feel like it is going to be another great year.”

Dewald said she has served in her current role since 2018.

“It is because of this inspiring festival, hosted in this incredible area that I have an amazing opportunity to translate the magic of The Farm into mattering more for deserving organizations in this community,” Dewald said.

While the Bonnaroo Works Fund has evolved throughout the years as the festival has evolved, its main focus is to provide support to local communities in the areas of arts, education, sustainability and social impact.

“This also includes providing impact programming and experiences at the festival that positively motivate patrons to take the magic and motivation of The Farm home with them to do good in their communities,” Dewald said.

The majority of contributions made through the Bonnaroo Works Fund are in the form of grants and donations to community nonprofits.

“We work with The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to field applications in the range of $1,000 to $10,000,” DeWald said.

The application is now live, and will remain open until the end of August.

DeWald said Coffee County is prioritized during this grant process.

“Truly, if there is an application that comes through from any Coffee County related programming, as long as it doesn’t dramatically stray from the values of the festival there is a good chance those requests will be granted,” she said.
