Red Raiders fall short of Area Championship

On Wednesday evening, the Coffee Middle Red Raiders fell 4-0 to the E.O. Coffman Panthers in the AA Area 6 Championship Game.

Neither team would score in the first two innings of play, then the Panthers struck first by scoring two runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead.

The Red Raiders could not find a way to answer, and in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Panthers doubled their lead with two more runs to make the score 4-0

Coffman would hold on for the win and the Area Championship Title.

Coffee County had four total hits in the game, with Mason Floyd registering two hits and Jaxon Pruitt, along with Kanon Creek each getting one hit.

Jordan Henley would be credited with the loss on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out two batters and walking four on 82 pitches. Hyatt Moss would make a relief appearance.

The Coffee Middle Red Raiders will continue the postseason in the Sectional Tournament as the #2 seed from Area 6.
