On Monday night, the Westwood Lady Rockets came back from a first set loss to beat Lewisburg at home while the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders picked up their seventh straight win of the season at Tullahoma.

The Westwood Lady Rockets made it five wins in a row with a comeback win over Lewisburg at Joel Vinson Gymnasium.

Lewisburg dominated most of the first set, as the Tigerettes leaped to a 13-4 lead midway through before Westwood called a timeout.

Westwood tried to claw their way back, cutting the Lewisburg lead down to as many as two points, but the Tigerettes took the first set 25-22.

The second set looked to be more of an even match, with a 4-4 scoreline in the early going, but Westwood launched themselves to a 20-8 lead and it looked like they would win the second set pretty easily.

The Tigerettes went on a big run and came as close as two points behind, but the Lady Rockets held on to win 25-22 and tie the match at one set apiece.

Westwood raced out to a 7-3 lead in the third set, but the Tigerettes wouldn’t go away quietly, tying the score up at 8-8 and then taking a 13-12 lead late in the set. The Lady Rockets responded well, scoring three straight points to win the third set 15-13 and win the match 2-1.

CCMS Lady Raiders

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders remain perfect after picking up a two set win at Tullahoma.

The Lady Raiders would win the first set in a 25-22 decision and then dominate the second set 25-12 to collect their seventh consecutive win.

Coffee County’s JV squad also picked up a two set victory, winning the first set 25-18 and winning a tightly contested 26-24 second set for the sweep.

Both of Manchester’s middle school volleyball teams will be pitting their winning streaks against each other when Coffee County Middle visits Westwood at Joel Vinson Gymnasium on Tuesday, Aug. 27 with JV action starting at 4:30 p.m.
