Elvis show coming to Manchester Friday
John Coffelt, Editor
Elvis tribute artist Anthony Liguori will present his show Elvis Still Rockin’ at 7 p.m., Nov. 15 at The Church at 117 in Manchester.
Liguori, of Hillsboro, is an accomplished musician and entertainer in the country, rockabilly and Christian genres. He recently scored a number one CASHBOX hit with his song “Midnight in Memphis,” co-written with Hall of Fame songwriter Jerry Foster.
Friday’s show will be an upbeat, rockabilly tribute to The King of Rock-n-Roll. Liguori has partnered with Church at 117-owner Steve West to bring in the Funky Cowboys to open and to back Liguori.
Liguori has enjoyed a career as a top Elvis Tribute Artist Formerly of Legends in Concert. Anthony has brought his “Tribute Show” to casinos, cruise ships, and theaters across the USA and Canada.
Elvis Still Rockin’ covers the rockabilly-style Elvis songs, the rock songs, with a little of the King’s country sprinkled in.
“We’re not doing the whole show,” Liguori said. “I’ve worked with Legends in Concert and do the whole Vegas-type thing as well. But that’s not what we’re trying to do here. We are trying to be more rockabilly-ish, so I’m going to wear the leather costume from 1968.”
His son Christian Liguori will make a special appearance for the show on lead guitar.
Admission is $10. Those interested in attending are asked to call (615)804-6087 for reservations.
