CHS volleyball takes down Franklin County

Coffee County volleyball got back in the win column Thursday evening.

Traveling to Winchester to take on Franklin County, the Lady Raiders took care of business in what was a tightly contested 3-0 match victory, winning by set scores of 26-24, 25-16 and 28-26.

The win also gave the Lady Raiders a regular season sweep of the Rebelettes, following their earlier 3-0 decision in Manchester on Sept. 2.

Allysa Goon led the way in kills with eight to finish just ahead of Hayleigh Harris with seven. Morgen Spears and Carrington Saner both added five. Danni Hillis and Paisley Dyer followed with three kills each. Cailey Sturgill had one.

Hillis was the team’s ace leader, coming away with two. Spears and Jenslee Nogodula both followed with one each.

Hillis, Spears and Dyer each had one block.

Taylor Brinkley took the top spot in assists with 20. Andon Selvog was credited with five. Nogodula and Dyer both had one assist each.

Nogodula recorded eight digs to lead the category. Up next was Hillis with six. Brinkley followed with four digs, just ahead of Goon with three. Spears and Selvog both notched two each. Harris had one dig.

Coffee County (13-6) returns to action with a road matchup at Tullahoma next Tuesday. Match time is set for 6 p.m.
