CHS basketball picks up Saturday wins at Santa Shootout

The Coffee County boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were back in action Saturday, hosting day two of the Santa Shootout at Joe Frank Patch Gymnasium.
Both teams picked up wins over the course of the day, starting with a 53-32 victory for the Lady Raiders over Harpeth Hall, followed by a 70-38 routing for the Red Raiders over Marion County in what was their sixth straight win.
The wins brought the girls’ team’s record to 11-1 on the season and the boys’ team to 7-3.
Up 11-6 after the first quarter of the girls’ game, Coffee County found itself in a close game at halftime, going into the break leading 19-17.
The Lady Raiders were able to separate themselves as the third quarter got under way, holding Harpeth Hall to five points while putting up 18 in the same span to take a 37-22 lead. Coffee County’s second-half production continued in the fourth quarter, with the Lady Raiders outscoring Harpeth Hall 16-10 on the way to the tournament win.
Natalie Barnes led the way with 21 points. Kaysen Morgan followed with 16 points. Audri Patton added nine points. Kinsley Pruitt, Brylyn McAdams and Morgen Spears all came away with two points each. Adalyn Clark had one free throw for one point.
In the boys’ game later that evening, a 19-10 lead for Coffee County at the end of the first quarter ballooned into a 43-17 lead by the end of the first half.
The Red Raiders went on to finish the third quarter ahead 56-31 before outscoring Marion County 14-7 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Kaysen Lowery led the Coffee County offense with 16 points. MJ Rollman followed with 14 points, finishing just ahead of Brody Sizemore with 13 points. Gabe Hambly added eight points. Brady Christian sank five points. Up next were Luke Campbell and Braden Sargent with four points each. Audie Nicoll posted three points. Jude Golembiewski netted one bucket for two points. Levi Rollman had a single basket from the stripe for one point.
The Red Raiders will be back at Coffee County Central High School to face Seigel in the Santa Shootout championship at 4 p.m. Monday.
