Officer crashes squad car while headed to police scene in Cherokee neighborhood, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – An officer crashed a squad car while heading to a police scene Monday in the Cherokee neighborhood, police said.

A large police presence emerged after the call came in around 6:40 a.m.  near Semmes Street and McCool Avenue. FOX13 arrived to find a crashed squad car with front damage on scene.

The Memphis Police Department said an officer was headed to assist in a “mental consumer” call when they were in a single-vehicle crash.

Police said no injuries were reported.
