CHS girls, boys wrestling split with Warren

The Coffee County wrestling team was back on the road Thursday night, traveling to McMinnville to take on Warren County.
The Lady Raiders and Red Raiders split the matchup, with the girls picking up a 32-12 victory and the boys falling 60-11.
Coffee County’s wins in the girls’ competition included Sophia Rodriguez, who won by forfeit at 100 pounds. Jasmine Norris went on to win by fall over Cheyenne Jacobs in the 120-pound weight class, forcing the fall at the 3:24 mark. Gabrielle Silva followed this up with a 7-3 decision victory in the 132-pound weight division. Aime Miller added another win by forfeit in the 138-pound class.
Competing in the 145-pound bout, Jianna Bare won by fall over Maya Reagan with 1:56 on the clock. Ellysia Jennings followed with an 18-3 technical fall win over Olivia Pilcher in the 185-pound weight class.
On the boys’ side, the Red Raiders’ wins included Marcus Uselton, who picked up a 6-4 decision victory over Nathaniel Margeson in the 120-pound weight class. Eli McLean added a 20-7 major decision win over Tylan Lusk in the 165-pound weight division. Kameron Stafford-Turner went on to add a 13-2 major decision victory over Hayden Watts in the 175-pound class.
Coffee County returns to action at the Commando Crush Saturday.
