Six killed in Mississippi mass shooting, suspect in custody, sheriff says

WEST POINT, Miss. – A mass shooting killed six people late Friday night in West Point, Mississippi, officials said.

The Clay County Sheriff said deputies took the shooter into custody.

Officials said the shootings happened at three different locations.

“Multiple innocent lives lost due to violence,” Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said. “We do have the individual in custody and no longer poses a threat to our community.”
