17-year-old boy charged in shooting man during argument over money in Whitehaven, MPD says
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A 17-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly shot a man during an argument over money in Whitehaven over the weekend, police said.
According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the man who was shot suffered life-threatening injuries. Police said officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday to a shooting on Ben Bow Drive and found a man had been shot.
Investigators believe that the teen and the man were fighting over money before the man was shot. The man’s mother rushed him to Methodist South but had to be airlifted to Regional One.
Police said the two knew each other.
The shooter, later identified as a teen, was later arrested at a nearby apartment complex. He was charged with four counts of aggravated assault/domestic violence and unlawful possession of a handgun, police said.
