The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is pushing back against social media claims that a trooper struck a protester in Memphis.

Officials released video of the incident which THP says shows the individual holding onto a patrol car, then standing up and leaving on his own. Troopers maintain that at no point was the person run over or injured.

THP stated that while they respect the right to protest peacefully, they are reminding the public that entering active roadways is dangerous and puts everyone at risk.
