Video gives inside look of SUV crashing into Midtown school’s cafeteria

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – FOX13 obtained new footage showing the moment an SUV driver crashed into a school building in Midtown Memphis on Tuesday morning.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the driver’s brakes went out, causing him to crash into Middle College High School on East Parkway South just after 9:30 a.m. FOX13 arrived to find a black SUV had crashed into the side of the building and into a first-floor window.

The driver told MPD that he maneuvered his car to prevent it from hitting another driver and ended up crashing into the cafeteria window. Video obtained by FOX13 shows students sitting near that window at the time of the crash.
