A North Coffee Volunteer firetruck was involved in a crash on Farrah Hill on Jan. 26 while responding to a structure fire in the vicinity.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s  preliminary report, NCVFD Chief  Gregory Wright and Dustin Good were in the firetruck when it crashed.

Wright was uninjured. Good was transported to the hospital.

Wright told the Times  that the firetruck hit a patch of ice and began a “slow-motion skid” that ended when the truck hit the ditch and rolled over.

He said that in almost  30 years of driving fire apparatus this is the first accident he has had.

The structure fire was a farm shop fire that was reportedly a total loss.
