PREP ROUNDUP: CHS, CCMS baseball and softball teams post Friday wins

Multiple area baseball and softball teams were in action at both the high school and middle school level Friday evening.
At the high school level, the Coffee County baseball team was on the road to take on Rockvale.
The Red Raiders returned home with their second straight win, holding the Rockets scoreless on the way to a 3-0 victory.
Carter Bell, Landan Abellana and Chase Leonard each had one hit for a team total of three.
Abellana, Davis McKenzie and Ethan McKenzie had one RBI each.
McKenzie pitched a complete game, striking out 12 batters and holding Rockvale to four hits and two walks across all seven innings.
The win put Coffee County at 2-3 on the season.
Middle School Baseball
Coffee County 3, Stewarts Creek 2
It went an extra inning, but the Red Raiders kept their undefeated start to the season intact with a close home win over Stewarts Creek Friday.
Tied at 2-2 after seven innings, a sacrifice bunt from Tripp Trussler in the bottom of the eighth brought Mason Floyd home from third base to secure the win.
Floyd, Trussler, Braxton Swack and Aiden McNeese each had one hit for four total.
Trussler had both of the team’s RBI.
Floyd was on the mound through the first four innings, coming off in the top of the fifth with six strikeouts, one run and five walks. Swack took his place for the game’s remainder, adding another three strikeouts as well as one hit, one run and one walk on the way to earning the win.
Coffee County (4-0) remains at home to host Lincoln County Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Forrest 14, Westwood 8
The Rockets’ four-game winning streak came to an end in a home loss to Forrest Friday evening.
The team finished with 10 hits, led by Will Levengood, Griffyn Woods, Brock Christian and Owen Holder with two each. Aidyn Jones and Luke Christian both had one hit each.
Woods posted two of Westwood’s five RBI. Jones, Brock Christian and Luke Christian had one RBI each.
Woods got it started on the mound, surrendering five runs and four walks before coming off in the top of the first inning. Luke Christian took his place, staying on through the top of the sixth inning and adding five strikeouts, six hits, six runs and one walk in this span. Brock Christian followed for the game’s remainder, finishing it off with one strikeout, two hits, three runs and three walks.
Westwood (5-2) travels to Huntland for a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
Middle School Softball
Coffee County 12, Franklin County 0
The Lady Raiders got it done in four innings on the way to a road victory Friday.
Coffee County finished the game with seven hits, led by Addie Haley with two. Britlyn Jones, Liberty Hill, Izzy Haynes, Aubrey Brown and Siri Cruz had one hit each.
Brown brought in three of the team’s eight RBI, followed by Hill with two.
In the circle, Cruz struck out seven Rebelette batters over the first three innings. Brown followed for the bottom of the fourth inning to finish the game and complete the team no-hitter.
The win moved Coffee County to 4-2 overall.
