Coffee County baseball’s six-game winning streak came to an end in Tullahoma Friday evening.

Taking on the Wildcats, the Red Raiders jumped ahead early but gave up a trio of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal a 3-2 loss to their cross-county rival.

Coffee County got on the board in the top of the first inning, starting with Austin Gipson scoring on a passed ball during the third at-bat of the game. Landan Abellana came to the plate not long after and connected on a ground ball single, bringing home Carter Bell from third base to make it a 2-0 Red Raider lead.

With Coffee County still up by two by the bottom of the seventh inning, a triple for Tullahoma got the Wildcats on the board to start things off. Brycen Campbell came to the plate for Tullahoma on the next at-bat and proceeded to reach second base on a ground ball error, bringing in the tying run in the process.

After a sacrifice bunt got Campbell to third base shortly after, Parke Fulks singled on a fly ball to center field to bring in Campbell and hand the Red Raiders a walk-off loss.

Abellana finished the game with two of Coffee County’s four hits. Preston Steele and Grayson Sadler had two hits each. Abellana also had the team’s lone RBI.

Davis McKenzie took the loss on the mound, finishing with five strikeouts, six hits, three runs and three walks over the course of the game.

Coffee County (6-4) remains on the road to take on Franklin County Saturday afternoon. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
