16-year-old arrested after child robbed at gunpoint in South Memphis, police say
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A 16-year-old boy was arrested Friday in connection with an armed robbery of a child in South Memphis, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the robbery took place Wednesday night as the child — later identified by family as a 7-year-old — was walking with friends from Riverside Community Park.
Police said the suspect pointed a gun at the boy and took two $5 bills from his pocket before running away.
MPD said the 16-year-old is charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

On Monday, police also charged a 14-year-old boy with robbery.
