Video captures suspects holding up Hickory Hill market at gunpoint

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police released surveillance footage showing a group of people holding up a Hickory Hill market at gunpoint earlier this week.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), it happened around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at the S Mart on East Raines Road near Kirby Parkway. Police said four suspects — two of them armed with handguns — walked into the store.

One of the armed suspects pointed a gun at the store clerk and “demanded everything,” police said.

Before running off, one of the suspects yelled, “They’re coming, J,” according to a witness account.

Police said they left with nothing.

Any information about the attempted robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers 901-528-CASH.
