PREP ROUNDUP: CHS boys’ soccer dominates Lincoln

The Coffee County boys’ soccer team closed out its regular-season district schedule by cruising to a home win Thursday night.
Hosting Lincoln County two days after a loss to Warren County, the Red Raiders bounced back with a 9-0 shutout victory over the Falcons at Raider Academy.
Coffee County got out to a quick start, scoring seven goals in the first half. The Red Raiders added two more in the second and kept Lincoln County out of the net to preserve the shutout.
Coffee County (6-6-1, 6-3-1 district) remains at home to host cross-county rival Tullahoma Tuesday evening. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
Middle School Softball
Westwood 13, Moore County 11
The Lady Rockets held off a late push from the Raiderettes to preserve a road win Thursday.
Westwood finished the game with 16 hits, led by McKenna Kehely with four. Maleah Chavis and Izzy Sartain followed with three each. Paisley Prater added two hits. Callie Kapise, Elly Wild, Addison Dinwiddie and McClayne Finch each had one hit.
Kehely also led the team in RBI with three of its 11. Chavis, Sartain and Wild all brought in two each. Prater and Kapise each had two RBI.
Kehely got it started in the circle, coming out in the bottom of the fifth inning with five strikeouts, 10 hits, 10 runs and seven walks. Skyleigh Cooper closed it out from there, adding four hits and one run.
The win put Westwood at 9-10 on the season.
