MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man was shot and killed while trying to rob a 24-hour Walgreens in Whitehaven early Sunday morning, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), it happened just after midnight at the store on Elvis Presley Boulevard at East Raines Road.

Police have not said whether the shooter was an employee or a customer.

The man was found shot to death at the store, police said. MPD reported no other injuries.

FOX13 reached out to Walgreens for comment and on Monday morning, the company provided the following statement:
