BRAMBLETT

James “Jim” Lacy Bramblett, age 82, of Hillsboro, Tennessee, passed away at his home early Sunday morning, March 22, 2026. A man deeply rooted in service, hard work, and faith, Jim cherished his family and friends above all else. A lifelong cowboy, he left a lasting impact on countless people within the horse industry. Born Aug. 28, 1943, in Morrison, to Wendell and Maultie Bramblett, Jim was always proud of his Tennessee heritage, a huge University of Tennessee Volunteers fan. He graduated from Coffee County High School in 1961. Jim served his country with honor, retiring from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, including service in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. While in the service, Jim served numerous short tours all over the world. Following his military career, he was a Supervisor at Arnold Air Force Base for over 26 years. A lifelong horseman, Jim trained and showed quarter horses on the AQHA and NRHA circuits. One of his proudest accomplishments was earning his National Reining Horse Association judge’s card, which allowed him to travel to horse shows across the country doing what he loved. When he wasn’t working with horses, Jim enjoyed spending time restoring cars and golfing. He also coached men’s league softball and little league baseball teams. Firmly grounded in his faith, he was an active member of Hillsboro Methodist Church as a Lay Leader and Sunday School supervisor. He was a devoted Christian and helped lead many young people to Christ. He was also a proud member of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 382. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his son Jimmy Bramblett; daughter Leesa Raaum; brother John Bramblett; sisters Helen (Meade) Brown, Wynella (Chuck) Badgett, and Carolyn (John) Powers; and brother-in-law Joe Elam. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Bramblett; sister Bridie Elam; sons Jason (Rachel) Bramblett, Justin (Melissa) Bramblett, Mike Pressley, and Jerry “Scooter” Thiesse; and grandchildren Trenton Pressley, Madison Bramblett, Jake Raaum, Carson Bramblett, Kendall Palmer, Charlee Palmer, Quinn Palmer, Devan Guthrie, Austin Thiesse, and Tyler Thiesse. He also leaves behind many other cherished family members and dear friends. The family welcomes all who wish to celebrate the life of Jim Bramblett to visitation on Saturday, March 28, from 1 –2 p.m. at Hillsboro Methodist Church, with the service to follow, officiated by Pastor Danny Freeman. DUNCAN

Michael Ray Duncan, age 62, of Manchester, passed from this life Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Nashville. Mr. Duncan was born in Springfield, IL to his late parents James Duncan and Judith Dye Duncan. He worked as a claim supervisor for Country Financial. In his free time, he enjoyed being on a boat in the lake or anything dealing with outdoors. He enjoyed cooking on his Green Egg and spending time with his children and grandchildren. People were drawn to him and he could fill a room – everyone loved him and you could feel the love he had for other people. Mr. Duncan was a genuine person and was a born leader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stephen Duncan; sister-in-law, Angie Duncan. Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynn Galbreath Duncan; son, Landon Duncan; daughter, Julia Cregger (Brian); brothers, Jim Duncan (Stephanie) and Kirk Duncan (Jollon); sister, Justine Dillon (Neal); grandchildren, Isaiah Vaughn, Olivia Vaughn, Emary Kinsey, Cameron Kinsey, Tucker Kinsey, Jude Michael Kinsey, Cora Kinsey; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation was held Monday, March 23, from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester.

BASSETT

Carolyn Faye Bassett, age 77, of Manchester, passed away on March 23, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital. Born on July 14, 1948 in McMinnville, she was a retired employee from Carrier and MedRide, and a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter Y. She had an unconditional love for her puppy dog. Carolyn had a big heart and wanted to make sureveryone’s needs were met before her own. She cherished time spent with her family, most of all her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed going to lunch with her dear girlfriends and church ladies, always sharing an abundance of laughter. Carolyn had a personality that everyone loved to be around and her smile would light up a room. She was well-known and her legacy of love will continue to shine. Her husband lovingly referred to her as “doll.” Survivors include her “girls” Noell Brown, Laura-Lyn (Preston) Moore, and Jamie Karole (Brooks) Crutchfield, children Tony Bassett and Shelia Marie (Mitch), grandchildren Karmen (Ken) Buchanan and Reba Patterson, and her great grandchildren Hunter (Brooke), Lakelyn, Mattalyn, Braxton, Elijah, Christopher, Ronan, Acelyn, Isabella, Brooks, KJ, Kayden, Kenzlie, Caycen, Isbell, and Brycen. Special friends Brian and Nikki, Cathy Cagle, Marsha Jackson, Susan George, Terri Long, her church ladies and church family, and her beloved dog, Della also survive. She is preceded in death by her father, mother Elizabeth Newby Chastain, her husband Andy Wade Bassett, and her daughter Carolee Boyd. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Forest Mill Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
