BRINKMANN
Robert “Bob” Grier Brinkmann, 78, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville. Born on July 24, 1947, in Memphis, Robert was the son of the late Fred and Ora Gray Brinkmann. He dedicated four years of his life to honorable service in the United States Air Force. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education at Mississippi State University, followed by a long and meaningful career as a teacher and later as a salesman of educational materials for Mississippi School Supply, a role he held for over two decades. Bob was a pillar in his community and a devoted member of the Red Hill Church of Christ in Manchester, TN. He was deeply committed to various veteran organizations, proudly belonging to the American Legion, the VFW, and the DAV. He was also a beloved member of the Manchester Kiwanis Club. Bob was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Mary Jo (Lee) Brinkmann; his parents, Fred and Ora Gray Brinkmann; his brother, Karl Brinkmann; his nephew, Nicolaus Streiff; his great-nieces, Imogen Streiff and Cora Wilterdink; and his father and mother-in-law, Bert and Mary Gray Lee. He is survived by his loving siblings, Fred (Cindy) Brinkmann and Peggy (Gary) Streiff, and sister-in-law, Joyce Brinkmann. Robert’s memory will be carried on by his numerous nieces and nephews: Paul Brinkmann, Eric Brinkmann, Michael Brinkmann, Thomas (Kelly) Brinkmann, Melvin Brinkmann, Fritz (Alison) Streiff, Beth (Jon) Wilterdink, Gretchen (Dan) LaBonte, and Peter (Kelly) Streiff, along with his great-nephews: Philip Streiff, Luke Streiff, Robert Wilterdink, Clayton Wilterdink, Ben LaBonte, Oliver LaBonte, Amos Streiff, and Joel Brinkmann. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon, officiated by Ralph Hart, with burial in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Military honors will be honorably performed by the US Air Force. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested contributions to the Memorial Fund at Red Hill Church of Christ, Manchester or the Manchester Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund through People’s Bank, attn.: Denton Jones.
