CHS wrestling takes down Lincoln, Cane Ridge

Coffee County wrestling returned home Thursday night, welcoming Lincoln County and Cane Ridge to Raider Academy for tri meet action.
The Red Raiders took care of business in both matchups, opening the evening with a 47-24 win over Lincoln County and following this up with a 48-28 victory over Cane Ridge.
Against Lincoln County, the Red Raiders’ winners included Giddian Mascari, who took down Lucas Gentry in the 113-pound weight class by a 17-1 technical fall. Marcus Uselton followed with a victory in the 120-pound weight division with a win by fall over Ben Porter. Competing in the 138-pound class, Toccoa Gaines came out on top over Dylan Lindsey via a win by fall. Carlos Valle-Martinez added a win by fall over Bryson Arnaud in the 144-pound division, with the fall coming with 17 seconds on the clock.
Layne Hines added a victory in the 150-pound weight class, defeating Landyn Lindsey via a fall at the 1:29 mark. William Barlow followed with another Coffee County win in the 157-pound bout, forcing the fall over Leland Cottingham with 3:24 left on the board. Up next was Eli McLean in the 165-pound weight division, who came out on top over Eli Schettler via a fall at the 4:24 mark. Kameron Stafford-Turner followed in the 175-pound class, defeating Carsen Carter with a fall at the 1:26 mark.
Against Cane Ridge, Usleton got it started with a victory over Owen Yat in the 126-pound weight class via a win by fall with 1:41 on the clock. Lester followed with another win by fall over Ishon Thapa in the 132-pound weight division, this time at the 1:03 mark. Up next was Gaines over JaJuan Hughes with a 17-2 technical fall win in the 138-pound class. Valle-Martinez added a 22-10 major decision win in the 144-pound division over Idi Nuner.
Hines came away with a win by fall at the 25-second mark over Hector Sorto in the 150-pound bout. Barlow took down Bryson White in a 12-3 major decision victory in the 157-pound weight class. Stafford-Turner added a 19-3 technical fall win over Cayden Williams in the 175-pound weight division. Kerry Norris picked up a win by forfeit in the 285-pound class. Mascari closed it out with a win by fall over Anthony George in the 113-pound division, with the fall coming at the 3:12 mark.
CHS boys split with Seigel and Eagleville, girls earn win
Coffee County opened the week with a trip to Murfreesboro to face off against host Seigel and Eagleville Tuesday evening.
The Red Raiders fell to Seigel 43-29, but came out on top 56-23 over Eagleville. On the girls’ side, the Lady Raiders took down Seigel 42-6.
Against Seigel, Coffee County had wins from Mascari over Cooper David in the 113-pound weight class, with the win coming by fall at the 3:56 mark. Gaines added a win by forfeit in the 138-pound weight division. Valle-Martinez won via an 18-2 technical fall over Nathan Sublett in the 144-pound class. Barlow came out on top over Armando Tapia in the 157-pound division, with the fall coming with 3:44 left on the board. Eli Gipson also won by forfeit in the 175-pound weight class.
Against Eagleville, Uselton got things going in the 120-pound weight class with a win by fall over Kelly Blackwell, with the fall coming at the 41-second mark. Lester followed with another win by fall in the 132-pound division, taking down Joey Gnoffo with 24 seconds remaining on the clock. Gaines picked up a win by fall at the 1:38 mark over Lincoln Ersoy in the 138-pound class. Valle-Martinez defeated Campbell Smith in the 144-pound division, with the fall coming with 3:16 left on the board.
Competing in the 150-pound weight class, Hines came out on top over Owen Mehring, winning by fall at the 40-second mark. Barlow took down Ryan Floyd in the 157-pound weight division, winning via a fall with 2:46 left on the clock. McLean and Gipson both added wins via forfeit in the 165-pound and 175-pound classes, respectively. Stafford-Turner followed this up with a 5-4 decision victory over Thomas Solomon in the 190-pound class. Caden Harris closed it out in the 185-pound weight class with a 15-0 technical fall win over Ames Bryant with 4:06 left on the board.
In the girls’ matchup against Seigel, Jasmine Norris took down Liliana Bahr in the 126-pound weight class with a fall at the 56-second mark. Aime Miller followed this up with a victory in the 138-pound weight division, taking down Faith Boone via a fall with 3:15 left on the clock. Jianna Bare won by fall over Kya Derrick in the 145-pound class, with the fall coming at the 45-second mark. Raianna Gault came out on top over Perla Sanchez in the 152-pound division, winning by fall with 1:43 remaining on the board.
Ellysia Jennings took the 165-pound bout over Serenity Sloan, winning via a fall at the 1:19 mark. Competing in the 185-pound weight class, Marlee Wimley was victorious over Veronna Stone, earning a win by fall with 4:20 left on the clock. Keyauna Hill came out on top of Jaida Thompson in the 235-pound weight division, with the fall coming at the 29-second mark.
