Raiders’ midweek results

On Tuesday, the Lady Raider soccer team lost at home to Shelbyville, the Lady Raider volleyball team lost on the road at Spring Hill and the Red Raider golf team placed first in another home meet at WillowBrook Golf Club.

Lady Raider Soccer

The Lady Raider soccer team fell 8-2 in a district match at home against Shelbyville.

The Eaglettes scored two goals in the first ten minutes, then Bailey Barsenas scored a goal outside of the 18 yard box for Coffee County to make the score 2-1.

Shelbyville would score twice more to make the game a 4-1 score at the end of the first half.

The second half looked identical, as the Eaglettes scored four more times in the second half while the Lady Raiders managed one more goal from Lilly Matherne, making the final score 8-2.

Coffee County is scheduled to travel to Spring Hill for their next match on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Lady Raider Volleyball

The road struggles for Coffee County continued on Tuesday night, as the Lady Raiders dropped their third straight district road game in a 3-0 loss to Spring Hill.

Spring Hill won pretty decisively with a 25-17 win the first set, a 25-20 win in the second set, and a 25-17 win in the third set to complete the sweep.

Rileigh Russell led Coffee County with three aces and eight assists while Morgen Spears led the team in kills with four.

The Lady Raiders will try to collect their first district road win when they travel to Tullahoma on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Red Raider Golf

Jack Stowe led the way in individual scoring while the Red Raider golf team placed 1-2 in a five team battle at WillowBrook Golf Club.

Stowe scored a 31 in the nine-hole game for Coffee County while Noah Costello carded a 34, Levi Rossman turned in a 39 and Landon Collins scored a 37 to give the Red Raiders a team score of 141.

The Red Raiders fielded a second team in the match, and that group was led by Keller Hatfield, who scored a 38 while Luke Lowe and Rylan Melson each carded a 45 and Tanner Daugherty scored a 49 to combine for a team score of 177.

In individual scoring for Coffee County, Jaxon Phillips scored a 41, Carter Bell and Lucas Turner each scored a 48, Riley Keele scored a 50, Bridger Gray scored a 53 and Elijah Carter scored a 62.

Marion County placed third with a team score of 188, South Pittsburg placed fourth with a 189 and St. Andrews-Sewanee rounded out the field with a 196.

For the Coffee County girls, Leah Kate Sullivan scored a 49 and Karsyn Riddle carded a 59 for a team score of 104, beating South Pittsburg’s 135.

Coffee County golf will play their next match at Lawrenceburg on Thursday, Sept. 12
